💰 New Patients: $125 | Renewals: $50

Pennsylvania requires a separate $50 state fee. Waived for MMAP-eligible patients on Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, PACE/PACENET, or CHIP.
How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in Pennsylvania
Getting your PA card is a two-step process — certification from a doctor (us) and registration with the state (we help with that too):
- Green Bridge Society – our PA-approved practitioner reviews your condition and, if you qualify, certifies you electronically to the state.
- Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – the PA Department of Health runs your patient portal, collects the $50 state card fee, and prints & mails your medical marijuana card.
We do not print or mail cards. Your card, payment to the state, and portal login are between you and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
📞 When you schedule, you pick a call window (morning, afternoon, or evening) — not an exact time. Your doctor may call anytime within that window, so keep your phone nearby. Calls can appear as "Unknown" or "Spam Risk."
If your card is late, missing, or inactive at a dispensary, it's almost always a state portal issue, not a doctor problem.

About Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Program
Pennsylvania's medical marijuana program was created by Act 16 of 2016, signed into law by Governor Wolf on April 17, 2016. The program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Office of Medical Marijuana, with regulations codified at 28 Pa. Code Chapters 1141a through 1171a. The first dispensaries opened on February 15, 2018, and Pennsylvania has since grown into one of the largest medical-only cannabis programs in the country.
Pennsylvania recognizes 24 qualifying Serious Medical Conditions (SMCs) — among the broadest lists of any medical-only state. The Medical Marijuana Advisory Board reviews petitions to add new qualifying conditions; anxiety disorders and Tourette syndrome were added in 2019, and chronic hepatitis was added in 2022. Anxiety disorders are the most commonly cited qualifying condition on Pennsylvania certifications.
Telehealth certifications are permanently authorized in Pennsylvania, making the certification process faster than most states. Eligible patients can also apply for the Medical Marijuana Assistance Program (MMAP), which waives the $50 state card fee for participants in Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, PACE/PACENET, or CHIP. Patients enrolled in PACE or PACENET also receive a $50 monthly stipend toward medical cannabis purchases under MMAP's Phase 3 pilot program — this benefit is currently only available to PACE/PACENET cardholders.

Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana — Common Questions
How long is the appointment call?
5-10 minutes. Our PA-approved practitioners won't rush you.
What if I miss the doctor's call?
Your doctor will try again and may text. Calls sometimes show as "Unknown" or "Spam Risk." If we can't reach you, our office will follow up to reschedule.
How soon can I visit a Pennsylvania dispensary?
After you complete state registration, pay the $50 state fee, and receive your card (typically 1-2 weeks). Then you can visit any licensed Pennsylvania medical marijuana dispensary.
Can I get the $50 state fee waived?
Yes — through the Medical Marijuana Assistance Program (MMAP). If you participate in Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, PACE/PACENET, or CHIP, you qualify for a no-cost PA medical marijuana card. Patients enrolled specifically in PACE or PACENET also receive a $50 monthly stipend toward dispensary purchases under MMAP's Phase 3 pilot program — this monthly benefit is currently only available to PACE/PACENET cardholders.
Do you help if my card isn't working at a dispensary?
Yes. Text or call us. Card problems are almost always state portal issues — and we know how to fix them.
What products can I buy with a PA medical marijuana card?
Pennsylvania allows whole flower (for vaporization), vape cartridges, tinctures, capsules, oils, topicals, concentrates, and infused products including gummies and other edibles. Smoking flower is not permitted under PA law — flower must be vaporized. Patients can purchase up to a 30-day supply as determined by your certifying physician.
Is telehealth certification legal in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Pennsylvania has permanently authorized telehealth for medical marijuana certifications. You can complete the entire certification process from home — no in-person doctor visit required.
How long is my Pennsylvania medical marijuana card valid?
One year from issuance. Annual renewal required. We recommend renewing 30-60 days before expiration to avoid a gap in dispensary access.
Can I use my Pennsylvania card in other states?
Pennsylvania doesn't have formal reciprocity. Some states may recognize PA certifications for visiting medical patients — check the specific state's rules. We also certify in Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Michigan, Oklahoma, New York, Louisiana, and Maine. See our FAQ page for general information across all states.
