Yes. Florida law requires a physician to examine a patient in person before issuing a medical cannabis certification, so there is no telehealth option in Florida the way there is in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Florida patients are seen at our Fort Lauderdale office.

Yes — Florida patients can transfer to a new certifying physician. Transfers are $124 with the RISE25 code (regularly $149), and the visit works the same way as any other Florida appointment: in person at our Fort Lauderdale office. Bring your current card and any records from your previous physician if you have them.

Yes — this is the part most patients get stuck on, and it's the part we built our practice around. We assist with logins, password resets, address verification, state fee payment, and any error messages the portal throws at you. Portal support is part of the certification, not a separate add-on.

Yes. Maryland uses the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA, formerly MMCC) OneStop registration system, which has its own quirks compared to PA's portal. We walk MD patients through OneStop registration, MCA Patient ID number lookup, and the 120-day first-purchase window. More on the MD process here.

No — medical marijuana cards are state-specific. A PA card works at PA dispensaries (including PA RISE stores), an MD card at MD dispensaries, and an FL card at FL dispensaries. If you split time between states, you would need separate certifications in each state where you want to legally purchase. The good news: RISE partner pricing applies in all three, with RISENEW and RISERENEW in PA and MD and RISE25 in Florida.

Pennsylvania's medical marijuana program prohibits combustion/smoking of cannabis flower. Approved forms include vaporization of dry leaf, vape cartridges, tinctures, capsules, topicals, and concentrates. RISE and other PA dispensaries carry products in all of these approved forms.

For PA and MD patients, your provider will try you again and may follow up by text. Please keep your ringer on during your selected window — calls can show up as "Unknown," "No Caller ID," or "Spam Risk" depending on your carrier, so don't screen those out. If we can't reach you at all, our team will email you to reschedule at no charge. Florida patients are seen in person, so if you need to move your Fort Lauderdale appointment just call or text us and we'll reschedule.

Pennsylvania recognizes 23 qualifying medical conditions including chronic pain, anxiety disorders, PTSD, cancer, Crohn's disease, epilepsy, MS, Parkinson's, sickle cell anemia, opioid use disorder under specific criteria, and several others.

Maryland uses a more flexible system where any condition that a physician believes may be relieved by cannabis can potentially qualify, including but not limited to severe pain, severe nausea, anxiety, PTSD, glaucoma, and others — Maryland has a catch-all clause that Pennsylvania doesn't.

Florida lists specific qualifying conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, PTSD, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's, MS, and chronic nonmalignant pain, and also allows a physician to certify for comparable conditions at their clinical discretion.

If you're unsure whether you qualify, your provider will discuss your conditions at your appointment.

Records help but aren't strictly required for every patient. If you have a recent diagnosis or documentation of an existing condition, upload it during intake — it speeds the visit along and gives your provider context. If you don't have records readily available, your provider will still discuss your medical history and determine whether you qualify. Florida patients should bring any records with them to the Fort Lauderdale office.

Most patients can shop the same day or within 24 hours of certification. After your appointment, your certification is submitted to the state registry — once you complete registration and pay the state fee, you'll receive your card. RISE accepts the digital card as soon as it's active in the state system.

Yes. Your medical marijuana card is valid at every licensed dispensary in the state where it was issued — your card works statewide regardless of which dispensary you eventually visit.
