The Bridge
A poem by Ron Boyles — written before there was a Green Bridge.
I · The Struggle
If you struggle with opiates, pills or a stick,
it’s all about fixes so you don’t get sick.
It takes over your body, your soul and your life.
The time in between is nothing but strife.
You’ve been told there’s no hope and the opiates win.
That putting poison in your body is just a sin.
You come to your last option, the end of your rope.
Listen as I tell you that there is now hope.
II · The Answer
Opiates, for years, have ruled and destroyed.
Now a much stronger weapon is being deployed.
It’s very strong magic, say what you please.
Kicks opiates ass and almost every disease.
Pundits and politicians play with the lies, but with each passing day we watch their demise.
It’s time has come, the order is tall.
Hidden by laws for no reason at all.
III · The Calling
Almost 20 years I danced with the pill,
losing my life and losing my will.
To God I did pray, yell, scream and rant
Until freedom and health, He gave in a plant.
“Build a bridge” He said as he sent me back.
“Use my plant, heal my people, I’ve got your back.”
